Yes. Uber, Bolt and Local Taxi Apps all operate in Helsinki, and you can ride any of them from the airport into the city. The catch is the pick-up location: the four ground-level taxi lanes are reserved for the official fixed-fare taxi companies, so your app driver can’t collect you there.
Instead, app rides use the dedicated pick-up point in the P2 Parking Hall. Book the ride as normal, then follow the signs — your driver will meet you there.
Where is the P2 pick-up point?
From the Arrivals hall, follow the signs for P2 / parking. It’s a short, covered walk, which is a small blessing when Helsinki is doing its rainy or snowy impression.
Step 1 – Find the Airport Train Entrance and follow the P2 signs from there
Step 2 – Follow the P2/AppRides signs passing the second-longest escalators in Finland
Step 3 – Keep following the P2/AppRides signs. The escalators and the huge drop to the underground train station on your left is an amazing photo opportunity as well!
Step 4 – You reach these automatic doors. Go through them and keep going straight.
Step 5 – Follow the arrows. Cross the crosswalks carefully and always check for cars! After crossing, turn left.
You´re almost there.
Step 6 – Keep following the arrows and make sure you stay on the crosswalks.
Step 7 – You have arrived to your destination. This is the waiting area for your App Ride; please look out for the car or license plate described in your app. Please be mindful of other passengers when moving to your ride. They will wait. Especially in the rush hours, there can be a lot of people here. The taxis have to pay additional charges to the Airport Authority to pick you up; rest assured they will not leave without you.
Uber vs Bolt vs Local taxi apps in Helsinki — which app?
All three work, but locally Bolt is the most widely used, so it often has the shortest wait and keen pricing. Uber is reliable and familiar if you already have it.
My honest tip: open two apps and compare the quote before you book — prices are dynamic, and the cheapest one changes by time of day and demand.
How much does a ride app cost from Helsinki Airport?
App fares are dynamic, so they rise and fall with demand — but as a rough guide, a ride into the city centre is usually in the same ballpark as a taxi, sometimes a little less off-peak and more during surges. For comparison:
