Please read the booking terms and conditions carefully. These are the sole terms and conditions of the contract between you (the Customer) and the tour organiser (Helsinki Walking Tours Ltd.), apart from applicable Finnish and EU law. By purchasing your tour ticket through any sales channel, you declare your approval of these Terms & Conditions.
Pricing
There are no additional booking fees or taxes added to the prices displayed on this website. All prices are inclusive of the Finnish VAT of 24% (1.9.2024 onwards 25,5%). Please note that pricing and quotes for business customers are VAT 0%. Helsinki Walking Tours reserves the right to change or amend the prices shown on this site at any time. The prices provided in the marketing materials might be out-of-date, please always refer to this website for current pricing. Helsinki Walking Tour reserves the right to sell the service for a different price than indicated on the website at any times. Furthermore, prices available on reseller platforms (ie.TripAdvisor, Airbnb Experience etc) may not fully adhere to the current pricing of my tours due to the limitations of the booking enginees on the platforms. All prices displayed in any booking platform are always final and binding. Any changes in prices will not adhere to reservations made before the new price has been announced.
At the time of making the reservation, all of the applicable discounts are calculated in the booking widget. The customer must notify Helsinki Walking Tours if they qualify for any additional discount (ie. Assistant to a disabled person). Later claims for discounts are not handled. The customer must be able to prove their eligibility for a discount. Only one discount per service per person can be considered, i.e. the discounts do not stack.
The customer is not eligible for a refund for any services they paid for but did not use.
Booking and confirmation
The customers will receive confirmation by email or via other electronic method to the email address or profile they have provided. The booking is binding upon both Helsinki Walking Tours and the Customer, as the Customer pays the agreed amount and Helsinki Walking Tours confirms the booking.
Changes and cancellations
The customer shall send a request via email (info@helsinkiwalkingtours.com) or via other platform used to make changes to the date of their booking. Helsinki Walking Tours does not guarantee the acceptance of the request as there may not be available spots for requested dates. Please check your booking details carefully after you have booked your experience to make sure that there are no mistakes. The cancellation policy below is valid for the management of the cancellations
Cancellation policy
For a full refund, the customer should cancel their booking at least 24 hours in advance of the start date and time of their booked experience. If the booking is cancelled within 24 hours of the start date of the experience, there will not be any refund paid to the customer. Customer can not cancel any participations for a tour based on bad weather or personal schedules. Payment processing fees are never refundable (as per their refund policy). All cash sales are always final.
Helsinki Walking tours holds the right to cancel tours if the weather conditions are hazardous or on there are other serious reasons. This decision can only be made by personnel of Helsinki Walking Tours and I will endeavour to inform customers regarding the cancellation at least 24 hours before the beginning of the tour, but this can not always be guaranteed.
Rescheduling the tour is free of additional charges if made at least 24 hours before or anytime if a participant might carry a contagious disease. In the case of rescheduling based on a contagious disease (eg. COVID-19) a proof of positivity must be produced (eg. certificate from a national health authority or a picture/video of a positive home test).
Responsibilities of Helsinki Walking Tours Ltd.
Helsinki Walking Tours does not take any responsibility nor compensate the customer for any events caused by circumstances that could not have reasonably been foreseen or prevented by Helsinki Walking Tours when entering an agreement with the customer. These circumstances may include but are not limited to war, government restraints, quarantine orders, state of emergencies, severe weather conditions.
When circumstances occur beyond Helsinki Walking Tours’ control, I will notify you of the change to your arrangement in order to possibly find a suitable date for your experience. However, Helsinki Walking Tours will not make a compensation for any kind of responsibility. The liabilities of Helsinki Walking Tours are limited only to the price paid for the booked arrangements.
Helsinki Walking Tours reserves the right to terminate the agreement and terminate customer´s participation to tours with an immediate affect, if the customer or any member of the customer’s party, is clearly intoxicated, behaves in a manner that significantly affects the overall quality of the service or if the customer or their party causes material, mental or physical harm or damage to any other party. If the agreement is terminated immediately due to these reasons, Helsinki Walking Tours can charge the customer for the full value of the inflicted harm, with a minimum amount of 500€ (+ applicable VAT).
Helsinki Walking Tours will not take responsibility or compensate the customer for any events caused by circumstances that could not have reasonably been foreseen or prevented by Helsinki Walking Tours when entering an agreement with the customer. In case of force majeure, Helsinki Walking Tours has the right to cancel the reservation and the customer is eligible for a refund.
Responsibilities of the Customer
Participation in the experiences takes place entirely at the customers’ own risk. Customers are liable for any damage to persons and material caused by themselves. It is strongly recommended that the customer and all members of their party have valid and sufficient travel insurance. Helsinki Walking Tours cannot be held responsible for any liability, expenses or losses that may occur as a result of being inadequately insured.
It is the customer’s responsibility to check with the appropriate authorities about any visa and immigration requirements to enter and stay in Finland. Helsinki Walking Tours does not accept any responsibility in the case of customer traveling without the correct passport, visa, health insurance or any other immigration requirements. Furthermore, Helsinki Walking Tours does not provide assistance in acquiring any of the necessary travel documents listed previously.
It is the customer’s responsibility to be at the meeting point at the agreed-upon time (the time the experience starts). Customer is considered as “no-show” after 15 minutes has passed from the agreed start time of the experience. The customer is expected to follow the safety instructions provided by the personnel of Helsinki Walking Tours, and the customer is responsible for his or her own personal safety and the safety of any accompanying people dependent upon the customer. The customer is also responsible for the safety of her or his own belongings. If the customer is not present in the beginning of the tour they have reserved, Helsinki Walking Tours is allowed to proceed with the experience as scheduled and/or resell the reservation(s) of the no-show customers. Customer is not eligible for any refunds if considered no-show.
Customers agree to follow and respect the principles of Safe Space while attending my tours. The entire tour is a safe place for all people no matter how they identify themselves. You can ie. identify as a part of the LGBTQIA+-community, follow any religion or be a solo traveller of any gender.
Wireless Audio System
Sometimes larger goups will use a Wireless Audio System. Use of such system is always in the discretion of the personnel of Helsinki Walking Tours. In this case, upon check-in (or in some other manner), Helsinki Walking Tours will provide an individual wireless receiver to each customer to use for the duration of the experience. Customers need to handle the device with great care and protect it from all liquids (devices are not water-, rain- or splashproof). All devices must be handed back to the guide once the experience has ended.
Customer needs to plug-in their own headphones (with standard 3.5mm audio jack), use the headphones provided by me (in some cases) or purchase headphones from me. Helsinki Walking Tours assumes no liability to any damages or breakage for customers own headphones.
The replacement cost for damaged, stolen or lost wireless receiver is 50 € (+ applicable VAT).
Complaints
If there are any complaints about the experiences, they shall be brought to the attention of the staff immediately and Helsinki Walking Tours must be notified of the complaints as early as possible. If the complaint is accompanied by a claim for a refund, the written claim must be sent to Helsinki Walking Tours (info@helsinkiwalkingtours.com) within two weeks (14 calendar days) following the experience date.
Please note that the compensation liability is limited to the direct cost of the experience. If the customer and Helsinki Walking Tours fail to reach any agreement about the dispute, only the related Finnish laws will be used to solve the dispute, and the matter can be taken to the District Court of Helsinki or the Helsinki Mediator´s Office for resolution.
Privacy policy
Helsinki Walking Tours understands and respects the importance of the privacy of visitors to our website. All personal data that I collect are used and held to comply with the European General Data Protection Regulation and the Personal Data Act. When making a reservation or purchase, the customer agrees that Helsinki Walking Tours will process their personal data to manage the booking. The information will not be used for commercial purposes and will not be disclosed to third parties.
Please note that, by using our website and booking our services, you confirm the agreement of this privacy policy. Other than our website, our experiences are advertised on reseller websites and other major platforms such as TripAdvisor, Viator, Airbnb Experiences etc. If you make a booking on another platform, please remember to read their privacy policies as well. Data collection
Helsinki Walking Tours obtains personal information when you make a reservation request on our website, by email or by phone call. Helsinki Walking Tours only collects the personal information you provide to me. Please note that, if you do not provide your personal information, I may not be able to process your booking. The information collected is used solely for the purpose of delivering excellent customer experience and will never be sold/given/donated or released to anyone without an official request from Finnish government agencies tasked to do so.
Cookies
This Website uses cookies. By browsing this site, you agree to the use of cookies as prompted. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device by the website and automatically collect some information that you do not provide directly. The cookies are used to make the website work more efficiently and be more user friendly. I may use cookies also to enhance your experience on the website and to provide certain services that require the identification of the user’s path through the navigation pages.

ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLYING TO PRIVATE TOURS
From what is stated before, few additional terms and conditions apply to private tour bookings as follow. Tour shall be paid by credit card with the reservation system on our website helsinkiwalkingtours.com or it will be reserved with email arto@helsinkiwalkingtours.com and payment method is agreed via email. Payment and booking might be offered via other channels and/or platforms as well.
With confirmed reservation and if nothing else has been agreed upon, customer is obligated to pay 15% as a non-refundable reservation fee. In some cases whole sum of the reservation is requested.
If the tour or program is ordered via email, Helsinki Walking Tours will email payment link to complete the payment of the reservation fee.
If the customer cancels later than 7 calendar days (1 week) prior to the tour for any reason, Helsinki Walking Tours will charge the 50% reservation fee.
If the reservation for private tour is canceled later than 48 hours prior to the start of the tour, Helsinki Walking Tours is eligible to charge 100% of the price of the reservation.

In the case of rescheduling based on a contagious disease (eg. Rescheduling is always subject to availability for the requested dates and therefore can not be guaranteed. Rescheduling is always handled and agreed on case-by-case basis.
Group tours with additional elements which the customer may have booked, such as transportation, food, activity etc., Helsinki Walking Tours assumes no liability or responsibility of these third party produced products and/or services.
Business prices are VAT 0%. EU reverse charge VAT is used when applicable.
Helsinki Walking Tours Ltd. is not considered a travel agent as defined in the Finnish Travel Agency Act of 2017 (2017/921 and 2017/922).
Helsinki Walking Tours Ltd. is the officially registered auxiliary business name of Meliorem Consulting LLC.
