I’m Arto — born in Helsinki, the city I’m proud to call home. But let me share a little story about my bond with this place. I wasn’t just born in Helsinki; I was the very first baby born on 12 June, the city’s founding commemoration day. Every year the first newborn on that date earns the title of “Helsinki Baby,” and by that sweet old tradition, the city itself becomes their godfather. So yes — Helsinki is officially my godfather. Not too shabby, right?

I was baptised in the Temppeliaukio Church, the Church of the Rock — one of Helsinki’s most iconic landmarks, carved straight into the bedrock. To me, it isn’t just a marvel of architecture; it’s part of my story, my very foundation in this city.

Now fast-forward a few years (well, more than a few), and here I am, sharing my love for Helsinki with you. I’m an experienced, professionally qualified and Authorised Helsinki Guide — first-aid trained, and trusted with well over 160 five-star reviews across Google, Tripadvisor and Airbnb. No minimum group size, rain or shine: it’s just you, me and the city.
